Why is my baby not sleeping?

When babies are unable to self settle independently, they rely on an external strategy (rocking/patting/feeding) to get to sleep. What this usually means is if they wake through the night, they need this strategy to get back to sleep, even if they wake up 10 times overnight.

The external strategy (such as patting) is the problem, and it needs to be replaced with an internal skill.  An internal skill is something used by older children and adults in order to just fall asleep without requiring someone to pat your back or other strategy.

Once you’ve taught your baby to self settle, their sleep will improve dramatically and they will start sleeping through the night.

This usually happens in just 7 nights!

4. 1 Hour Private Consultation (phone or in-home). In this consultation, I will explain how the program works, the changes we need to make and how to troubleshoot for both day and night sleeps. You can ask any questions you need during this consultation.

Who am I?

I am an ICU Nurse, Midwife, Qualified Sleep Consultant but also mum of 7 year old twins, Anthony and Emma. They are the reason I started Happy Sleepers. As babies, they made me realise how important sleep is and how not getting enough made us a very dysfunctional family. We were very tired and really didn’t enjoy our little twins the way we wanted to. We were desperate for sleep!!! Because I was so sleep deprived for such a long time, it became my mission to help other mums and families with their sleep challenges.  

I have completed a comprehensive training and mentoring program with Dana Obleman, founder of the Sleep Sense program in the US, which gave me with the best tools and knowledge to change sleep problems into healthy sleep habits. It is my personal mission to help babies and toddlers to sleep through the night. Our consultancy service is available to help families in Australia and worldwide.
